I think that even before we go around proposing meta-standards, we should actually agree on a few fine points:
- what exactly is the problem we want to solve
- what is the process of finding the solution
- who will put the solution to life when it's found
When this project started, I believed that there is a clear vision on that. Later people with different ideas and agendas joined, and nobody stepped up to actually take responsibility. Right now I'm just taking care of a practically dead wiki with an occasional user adding their dreams to the wishlist. If you want to work on WikiCreole, that's great -- the energy you have would benefit it greatly. I would however encourage you to think about answers to those questions. -- Radomir Dopieralski

- what exactly is the problem we want to solve storing with a wiki page data which are processed separately and don't appear directly in the rendered page; for instance source, event date and time, etc.
- what is the process of finding the solution since unused characters become scarce, one question which must be answered is whether the extension syntax (double-angle brackets) is sufficient, and whether it should be used with a standard syntax (e.g. <<meta key value>>)
- who will put the solution to life when it's found added to a Creole engine? I would probably do it.

I'm not sure I get you, can you explain how this is related to text at Proposed Meta Standard? -- Radomir Dopieralski
It isn't, sorry, I'd misunderstood your questions. -- Yves Piguet
Yves. My own situation is that Creole simply doesn't answer the question that I wish to solve. The first was a wiki which I converted to use my own version of creole, but which I needed to add references. Creole didn't help at all. The second is an application where a sentence is automatically converted to a capitalised title, but some words (acronyms) shouldn't be capitalised. Again Creole was entirely unhelpful as to which characters I might use. Finally, I have created a website which requires formatted text. Whilst far from perfect I am now using HTML. -- Mike (and I still don't know what the standard is for signing a post!)
