I would move underlining to the core standard, especially since there's already an XHTML tag for this. Quite handy to have a way to emphasize things besides bold and italics. -- MarioLenz

Totally agree with above comment, because what is or is not part of xhtml1.0 strict is totally irrelevant. There clearly is a strong dare I say compelling case for __undeline__ because along with **BOLD** that is the most frequently used markup text I've seen in emails. People just naturally use it to highlight text and for that reason alone it ought to have been in Creole 0.001. On the other hand, many people use underline to indicate links, however whils that might have been a good argument back in the days of the sinclair ZX81 with black and white screens, and no other way to indicate links like colour, I suspect the number of people using CREOLE on black and white monitors who can't differentiate underline from a link is vanishingly small and there no longer is an excuse not to have underline. In the end, the question really boils down to this:
Does underline mean a link, and if so, then the CREOLE standard must say that links should be displayed as an underline.
If the standard does not reserve underline for a link, then it really is up to those designing the application using creole to find a way to display links that won't be confused with underlined text and not up to creole to prevent the use of underlines which from my experience in the top two naturally used markups in text.
